Focus Not on Your Fears
By Bing Aranzanso
"The key to change is to let go of fear." - Rosanne Cash The world is frightening to live in nowadays. With the challenges it offers, we tend to be overwhelmed and stupefied. Result: we cannot do the right things and we keep on being frightened. As a mother with a physically challenged husband, I am at times dazed on how to make ends meet, on how to provide for the children's needs, or simply how to make life easy for everybody in the family. The world can be cruel at times and things just happen not in accordance to my plans. What I gain at times is not what I expect. I have to admit that during the roughest of times, I cry because of fear. My soul is drained of hope that things can be better if I stand firm and go on with life. But thanks to the conviction in me, in my inner self. In the middle, and as I struggle, a determining guilt will tell me that no one is responsible to what is happening to me but me. Nobody can undo what had transpired but me because I am the author of my life. Of course, there is a Holy Deity which is the Author of all creation, but my life is what I had made it to be. No one is responsible for the mistakes or the false moves but me. The hope in me now continuous to glow and strengthen me. It gives me peace. It gives me focus. Life is not easy but life will teach me. Living is truly a learning process. "What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise." - Oscar Wilde |

hey, june, thank you! actually, i am weak at times.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NO PLAY THE BLAME GAME! Your life is inter-locked with the lives of all those around you with whom you have a relationship of any sort. It is absolutely impossible to live your life to the exclusion of everybody else and, in the same way, there is no way for you to isolate your life from the knock-on effects of events over which you have no control. Don't swallow all the b.s. about you being the author of your life and the guilt that this engenders. I have been disabled for all my life and I accept that this does impact upon certain aspects BUT I do not live in a glass box so I cannot even begin to believe that I have sufficient control over the actions of others to be in full control of my life and what happens to me. It sounds to me like you are a survivor and that you will understand what I have said.
